It was a grey and humid morning and the winds refused to blow,
There was a feeling in the atmosphere and even the rivers refused to flow,
A tension in the air was rising as a body lay still on the ground,
The news was emerging, the mighty had fallen and crowds gathered around,

It was like the earth had stopped rotating, the passage of time stood still and froze,
The people could not believe their eyes and the spirit of unity rose,
But there I stood away from all of them, just observing the scene from far away,
Disconnected from them and all their grief, alienation is the theme of the day,

The power of the establishment gathers like storm clouds blocking out the sky,
The threats and the intimidation come crashing on you from way up high,
